Tales of Xillia is part of the Tales Of series developed by Namco Bandai. It’s the 2nd PS3 Tales release after Tales of Graces (since Vesperia port didn’t get released officially).

The Tales Of series uses a distinct real time battle system that’s sort of a cross between a beat em up and an RPG. You literally beat up your enemies but it’s RPG style in that you have special attacks called Artes that you gain over time along with the always annoying random encounters.

Tales of Xillia is set mainly in the land of Rieza Maxia, where men and monsters coexist with the spirits of the land. The spirits perform actions in exchange for the creatures’ mana, which has made civilization thrive.
You play as either aspiring medical student, Jude Mathis, or the most powerful spirit,  Milla Maxwell.
Each story is mostly the same, except a few scenes when the two are separated, so you can choose either path without missing any major events. The two will meet each other in the city of Fenmont.

You need a real PS3 console with Custom Firmware (CFW) or Cobra ODE from Team Cobra.
